We are looking for talented, creative women who fit any number of visual and performance genres, or who defy any categorization whatsoever. You can find the call for artists and for performers for download below.
If you're new to Venus Envy, let me explain that it is more than just a juried women's art festival. It is a celebration of women, of our minds, our bodies, our spirits, our strengths, our insecurities, OURSELVES. We welcome any proposal for consideration. We are always searching for new experiences and expressions of the goddess within.
I should also make clear that while the focus is on women as creators at this event, it is by no means a women-only event. Men and women alike enjoy the artwork, performances, installations and interactive experiences that Venus Envy provides. If you're having trouble convincing the guys in your orbit to join you at Venus Envy, remind them that it is FREE and that there are delicious craft brews (not free, but not overpriced) at the bar to help them break the ice. They'll be enjoying themselves before they know it.
The postmark deadline for submissions to this year's event is Feb. 22.
